As part of your participation in our Mentoring Children of Prisoners program, you are required to participate in training that will help prepare you for the challenges that face children affected by the incarceration of a close family member. The online portion off this training introduces the mentor to the role they can play in the life of their "Little", as well as traits common to children in this situation. You will also find various study aides and activities that will help you with getting to know your "Little".

Please take the time to read and reflect on the materials below. The purpose of this training is not to be a catchall for any MCP mentoring relationship; we hope that it will spark some thought and discussion into this subject.

Please feel free to contact Sally Gowins, MCP Coordinator, if you have any questions or comments regarding the training materials or the MCP program.
